Elite Flash install guide

Allow 15 minutes. You do not need any tools, only the car key and somewhere you can leave the car idling.

Before you start

  • Do not unplug the tool or switch the ignition off while it is programming. Doing either can damage the car's control units.
  • The tool locks to the first car it is connected to. Never plug it into another car afterwards.
  • Make sure the battery is in good health. If the car has been standing, charge it first.
  1. Switch the ignition on, engine off

Turn the ignition to position two, or press the start button without your foot on the brake, so the dashboard is on but the engine is not running.

  2. Plug the tool into the OBD port

The port is usually under the dashboard on the driver's side, near your knees. After a beep the tool starts uploading to the gearbox control unit.

  3. Wait for it to finish

This takes 30 to 90 seconds. When the tool beeps continuously, programming is complete. Do not touch anything until then.

  4. Switch the ignition off, then unplug

Switch off and remove the key first, then unplug the tool. Never unplug it with the ignition on.

  5. Let the engine idle for 10 minutes

Start the car and leave it idling for 10 minutes without touching the accelerator, while the gearbox and engine control units carry out their base adaptation.

  6. Drive gently for 50 to 100 miles

The gearbox needs lots of light-load gear changes to adapt, and shift times keep improving as it learns. Smooth town driving is ideal. Avoid hard driving during this period.

Putting the car back to standard

If you want to return the gearbox to its original settings, for example before selling the car, a main dealer can install the full standard gearbox software.
